…my blog got one, not me ;)

I’m in the process of updating my portfolio and the look of my brand a little bit. I thought it would be nice to start with the blog. This is the first of many changes that are in the plan. I love polka dots, I love the fun, fresh, timeless look it brings. Let me know what you think.

Here’s a picture of what I have given up for the next 5 months! I will start having desserts again if I can finish my 5K run in May. Until then my sweet tooth will only receive minimal visual entertainment. This pic was randomly taken at a french bakery @ San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico.

icon Wedding Wire’s Bride’s Choice Award

A few weeks ago I got an email to be informed that Impressions by Nudrat Photography was selected to receive the WeddingWire 2010 Bride’s Choice Awards™.  That made me super happy, my hard work was finally starting to get recognized by the world! The Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and celebrates excellence in quality and service within the wedding industry, as determined by over 500,000 newlyweds. Being a recipient of this award means my services are in the top 5 percent of all wedding professionals in the WeddingWire Community!

As I mentioned earlier, I never imagined becoming a photographer, let alone starting my own photography business! To get a recognition, that was totally decided by the brides’ and grooms’ experience with me, is an ultimate honor. I’m glad to have found my passion doing a job that captures fond memories, love of tender hearts and the beauty and passion we all share. This is why I love doing what I do! I may get up one day and reject the idea of writing code, but hopefully, I will not stop capturing life as it goes on.

Cheers…

icon Downhill or what?

Not sure if 30 brought me closer to feeling like “I don’t wanna do anything but fall asleep on the couch!” I haven’t watched the last episode of Grey’s Anatomy yet, it was taped but not watched. This has never happened before! I also don’t feel like going through the episodes of American Idol. If you are not new to this blog, you already know that I claimed to be the biggest fan of those shows. I’m not sure what’s not in place anymore. It could be the (not so new) job or the age! Whatever it is, I’m going to have to get over this state. I’m not ready to believe that 30 is the beginning of the downhill trend!

The rain has stopped for a day. I should be outside training for my 5K, obviously I’m not doing that. Countdown to my dream-trip has begun! 15 more days till we fly out for Cairo…yippy…The current route is via Europe. If we had planned better we could make a stop at Italy also. But I’m sure we’ll have plenty to see in Egypt. Every year my hubby and his friends get together and make a trip somewhere. This year all the friends decided to join us to our Egypt trip. Now I’m only dreaming of camel ride and dinner in the the midst of Sahara with the homies!

Soon this picture will be replaced by my own capture @ Cairo!

icon Tiffany & Gustavo || Old Sacramento Engagement photography

Tiffany & Gustavo were seriously one of the most playful couples I have ever photographed! They are super good looking, as you can tell from the pictures. They were also verrrryyy relaxed, had fun through out the shoot which allowed me to capture beautiful photographs of the couple. We had a great time walking around the old Sac, taking advantage of the non-rainy day. We were super lucky, ’cause the rain didn’t stop for the next few days.

I’m excited to photograph Tiffany and Gutavo’s summer wedding in South Lake Tahoe. I know it’s going to be awesome!!! Thank you guys, for driving out to Sacramento and shooting with me.

icon A trip to Los Cabos

Turns out I have become a big time procrastinator this year. Instead of keeping up with my work and other important activities, I’m putting things aside and forming a stronger bond with my television. Sigh! I keep thinking that I would post the pictures from my recent trip to Cabo, but I end  up watching another movie and falling asleep on my comfy couch. Weather is not cooperating either! Non-stop rain is only making me want to sleep more. But finaly, I’m able to share a few pictures from my trip. I thought I had a lot to share, bit I realized that I didn’t take that many pictures this time (like any other time actually)! So here you go, a few snaps, mostly taken from the car on our road trip to Todos Santos and a few from the boat ride.

On our second day at Cabo, we decided to rent a car and take a day trip to Todos Santos. It’s a small town about an hour north of Cabo San Lucas. I took random pictures from the car. My goal was to take pictures of anything that looks unusual and interesting.

There were Cactus every where. I thought it was beautiful!

I read on a magazine that “Art & Beer” is the place for beautiful art and good beer. We found it right by the highway.

And when you want to carry around your beer, use this…

Want boots? Got boots!

Right outside an art gallery we saw this and terminator came into my mind. This is an electric meter!

We also went for whale watching. We took a water taxi and went right into the pacific ocean.

And the whale was right there…not one, not two, but many…I caught the tail of one of them.

We visited the Medano beach. See the rows of fancy resorts in the background?

Of course, there was a cruise ship…

We stayed in between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo. It was a smaller resort, more like suites, but a beautiful place with private beach. LOVED it!

It was a pretty short trip, but quite relaxing. It started raining right before we left for the airport. I’m pretty sure we are going back there in the near future, may be sooner than we think…
