iconA perfect entrance

People who know me know that I’m an emotional wreck! I cry at every wedding. When bride walks down the isle, when the groom says “will you?” and I hear the bride say “I do”, I cry. But I can’t believe that I started to tear after watching this video. This was one of the funnest entrance a couple could have! Check out this video (if you haven’t already) if you are looking for creative ways to walk down the isle.

and Happy Friday…

iconLili’s first birthday

It’s crazy how time flies! It was only little over a year ago when I met Katarina, Joe and Nicolas on a dusty shoe walk for our new home. A couple months later we moved into the brand new neighborhood in town. Nine days later Joe, Kat and Nicolas moved in as our immediate neighbor. We got to know the family better and became really good friends. During that time Katarina was expecting her second child. She asked if I would shoot her maternity session. So, I did! And that was just the beginning!

Her beautiful baby girl was born a month later. They named her Lili Ana. We went to see her at the hospital, I was thrilled to hold her in my arms for the first time! Four days later, I went to visit her again, this time I took my camera for fun and took a couple shots of the newborn. That picture is now hanging as a beautiful canvas art on their wall. Then came Christmas, followed by Lili’s Baptism. I had the honor to document both the events for her. Two weeks ago little Lili turned ONE. And guess who was their to capture her celebration? You got it! They had a party over the weekend, but I was out to SF shooting another session. But I was there on her real birthday to make sure that her cake-eating-experience didn”t go undocumented.

I really can’t believe that Lili is a year a old already! I just saw her yesterday and she was walking all over the place. I don’t know how she can get any cuter, but she is becoming even more adorable day by day. I mentioned it earlier and I have to mention it again, I love this little girl! It’s been amazing to capture the big moments for her first year, I’m blessed to have her around.

Off to the real deal now, enjoy a few images from Lili’s first birthday.

She got a gift, but it seemed like she was more into the gift receipt :)

iconJulia & Laing || engagement in SF

Ladies and gentleman, let me introduce you to Julia and Laing, a funny and fun loving couple who I had the privilege of spending an awesome Sunday afternoon with. We always go to San Francisco when someone visits us, we act like their tour-guides then! But this time we had fun laughing and giggling with Julia and Laing on their engagement session. The couple met sometime back, then they went on separate ways, months later they met again and this time they felt the sparkle of love to hold them together! There was nothing else to think about! Laing was so ready to seal the deal that he picked a Saturday afternoon and popped The Question to Julia. He had a ring of course! That’s when the wedding planning began and I came into the picture.

J & L couldn’t have picked a better day for their e-session. We started close to the Ocean Beach where they got engaged, ended up at the famous Ghirrardelli square. I had a blast with them! And you can tell that they were enjoying the day too. Here are the teasers…

iconAnnouncing my new blog

I am soooo overjoyed, ecstatic, thrilled (add all other words along the same line you can think of) to launch my new blogsite at this very moment! YES…Impressions by Nudrat Photography gets a new blog on it’s own domain. Please update your bookmarks, RSS feeds to the new link address – http://impressionsbynudrat.net. My blogspot has officially expired, however, it will continue to exist in the web for now. In case you forget to update the link and visit the old blog, you will be automatically redirected to the new site, so no worries.

The new blog was designed to match my new logo, brand, colors, etc. It’s a great representation of my style. Also, if you don’t have enough butterflies around you, this might be the place for you to be at! Do you see the custom blog background with the butterflies on it? It was designed by very talented Amber Mabe. She also came up with the butterfly wings on the logo. I am so thankful to Amber for turning my vision into art. I love my new logo, and the blog, and the website. It’s a great turning point for my business, I couldn’t be any happier to see my passion grow into something like this.

To celebrate the big moment, I am offering a $75 discount on any portrait sessions until the end of summer. The official last day of summer is September 21. So hurry up if you are looking into getting some pictures done.

Now, off to editing!

iconA big move is on the way

It’s coming! It’s coming! You’ll see the fruit if you can wait a few more days! What is it now? It’s a part of all the good stuff that are happening to my business. It’s one more thing in addition to the new logo, website, etc.

I have a busy weekend ahead. Summer concert in the Bay area, followed by a fabulous e-session in SF is on my plate. But I don’t want to leave you here with nothing! Enjoy a few highlights from my recent trip to up North.

Driving to Vancouver from Seattle. By the way, Seattle is one my favorite places. It’s in my list of places when I decide to move out of California.

Surrey is a small town in BC right off the US border.

It was our lucky day in Gas Town, Vancouver. They were having a Jazz festival.

Caught a sight of Mount Rainier from the aeroplane.

iconBlock party in the neighborhood!

This year’s 4th of July was like none other in the past. The entire neighborhood(well almost) gathered around the Kirkhill drive to celebrate America’s big day. There was meet-n-greet with the new neighbors, food, music, games, face-painting, water-fight, more food and of course, fire works! I was exhausted by the time we called it a night, but it was a day full of extreme fun!!!

Kids enjoyed an afternoon of ball games!
It was a BYOM(bring your own meat) party. Grilling started around 5:30.

That multi-layered jello was fabulous!

And then there was face painting. Kids were all stoked!

Baby Gianni was the newest edition to our neighborhood. He celebrated his very first 4th of July in style. He had two outfits to wear that day, both showed his all American spirit! Trevor rocked it out with a fabulous firework show.
So I say that I am lucky to have such awesome neighbors. Could I have asked for any better?

iconWedding in Vancouver

I was just excited to escape the 108-degree temperature in Roseville and fly out to Vancouver for a day and a half. It’s the Vancouver, BC I am talking about! I know I should have taken more time off, but the schedule didn’t allow me to do so. My cousin in Seattle finally tied the knot with his beautiful bride Lama last weekend. I had the opportunity to be at their wedding, this time as a guest. The weather was unbelievable (if you consider the heat I left behind in Sac!). We actually flew to Seattle and then drove up to BC.

It was a perfect wedding, the food was great, the people there were beautiful and everyone rocked the party at the end. It was an American-Middle Eastern extravaganza. I loved the mixture of cultures, it sort of brought the memory back from my own wedding. As I mentioned I was there as a guest, so found a good spot to sit and took only a few snaps for the B&G.

There was even a performance by the friends, it was a traditional Punjabi dance, only for the bride and groom.
