iconCrystal & B.J. || Sacramento Wedding Photography

What happens when a small town girl meets a boy from the city? They fall in love! That love then becomes a lasting relationship; they decide to get married. At least, Crystal & B.J. did! I cannot describe Crystal in my words, I’m not exaggerating! She is a sweetheart, she really is. And she just graduated from Stanford to become a P.A. He is a firefighter for the City of Sacramento. He also happens to have a line of super good looking firefighter friends who danced the night like rock stars and vowed to make the party even more memorable for the couple! Crystal’s parents amazed me. The big hug that I received from Crystal’s mom was touched me! I’m so glad, that I was at Crystal and B.J.’s wedding, capturing their special moments.

My photographer friend Mariea and I started shooting at the Citizen hotel;. If you are in Sac, looking for an awesome place to stay on your wedding night, check out Citizen hotel. So many photo ops, I couldn’t even utilize all! The ceremony took place at St. Francis Assisi Parish in Sacramento, one of the most beautiful churches you can visit in town, simply breathtaking. Then we headed to Tsakopoulos Library Galleria for the reception. The couple decided to have cake in every table as center pieces. I loved the groom’s cake; it was a firefighter’s hat.

Crystal incorporated so many personal elements to their wedding. Her bouquet had her grandmother’s cross that every lady in the family has used on their wedding day. She had also worn B.J.’s grandmother’s fur from the 40′s-60′s. Her mom’s dress was a 1940′s antique. They also encouraged their guests to donate towards children’s fund. The cute little seating cards delivered the message for them. They really made the best out of this day. They not only focused on the family details, but also they created a means for serving the community.

All I can say is that I was honored to be there on Crystal & B.J.’s big day. I have to say again that this is why I love weddings. I’m so lucky to have this outlet that allows to me to meet such wonderful people. Crystal & BJ – have fun St. Lucia :) I’m excited for your new journey. Lots of love…

iconMeghan & Luke || Sacramento Elk Grove Wedding Photography

Her smile was infectious, the entire church lit up when she walked down the aisle. She greeted me with her incredible smile when we first met. She moved from California to Colorado to be with the love of her life, the man of her dreams, Luke. He is a singer from New Mexico, and boy, he sings so beautifully! I asked if Luke would sing for her on a regular day. She said, “always”! He looked right at Meghan during his song at the ceremony. He was so emotional, so in love! And Meghan on the other end, standing, holding her bouquet, was taking it all in; she couldn’t be any happier!

Meghan & Luke had the perfect day to tie the knot. It was bright and sunny outside, a bit windy, but a beautiful Saturday to say “I do”. I loved the color palate they chose for the wedding, light pink and fresh green. After the ceremony we drove out to a field right off the street. This is the time of the year when yellow flowers bloom every where in the valley. I couldn’t help taking advantage of that. I LOVED Meghan’s dress, so modern, so perfect for her. I learned that almost everybody in Luke’s immediate family is a singer. They all performed during the ceremony.

I was very excited to be a part of Meghan & Luke’s wedding. I’m so happy for them and wish them the very best. Off to some more teasers for Meghan & Luke (I hope you guys are having a great time driving down the California coast!).

Little prayer before the wedding :)

iconPost WPPI

Okay, so I’m back from Vegas after attenting WPPI(Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) for the first time. I wonder why I waited that long to go to this convention! It was an incredible experience. I finally had a chance to hear from a few of the photographers I admire, I even took a picture with one of them ;) I’m loaded with information now and ready to get on action in full speed. I have to admit that I’m quite exhausted from all that travelling. I was just getting over from a cold and jetlag from my previous trip. Vegas trip added more to my exhaustion. But, like I said, I’m re-energized and re-inspired before my wedding season starts in 2 days. I couldn’t have attended WPPI at a better time.

I will write more about my first WPPI experience in future posts. Right now I want to relax and leave you with an image of a beautiful sunrise over the river Nile. This was taken from our cruise boat, right before our visit to Edfu Temple.

Finally this year, I have managed to attend WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International). It was a last minutes plan! I was sick for a while, couldn’t decide if I should go or not. It was on Friday only when I pulled the trigger and arranged everything. So that means that I will be in Vegas..yippyyy…I think this will be a great way to kick off my wedding season. Immediately after I return from Vegas I will be shooting Meghan and Lukes spring wedding in Sacramento. It will only get crazier after that!!! Can’t wait!

I’m excited to be at WPPI this year. I don’t know my shcedule yet, but I know that I’ll be busy. I’ll be there for two days only, therefore, I plan to squeeze in as much as I can. I will be checking emails, don’t hesitate to contact me you have any questions for me.

I will be back in a few days…
