I don’t know where to start the story. They are beautiful people with beautiful smiles, full of life, they know how to have fun. They know how to dance, literally! One of them belong to a dance group. One of them is a firefighter for the City of Sacramento. They have awefully good looking people in their list of friends! They know how to LOVE; know how to show people they care. They LOVE their families, friends. They LOVED each other so much that they decided to make it official and tie the knot. They are Katie and Sean and this is about their wedding day.

I met Katie and Sean early last year for their wedding in May of this year. It seemed like a really long time at that time. But sitting here right now, I don’t know how all these months have passed and they are now married! It has really been an incredible experience for me to shoot Katie and Sean’s big day at the Morgan Creek Country and Golf Club last Saturday! First of all, Katie is an incredible person! I know her even better now after her wedding, and I have to say that Sean is a lucky man And, so is Katie Sean is into sports. I saw the passion in his eyes when I went to shoot with the guys before the ceremony. When I was walking over to the bridge for his protraits, he asked me about Katie. The emotion on his face was priceless! He was so in love! He is a firefighter for the city of Sacramento which already tells a lot about his passion for life and the community.

I had an awesome time shooting with the girls. These girls knew how to work it, they were soooo much fun! It was super cold on Saturday (low 40′s) and very windy. But they kept the spirit up and I enjoyed shooting every moment with them. The night was still young when I left. The dancers were rocking the dance floor! The DJ played awesome dance mixes! And the cake was amazingly tasty!!! What can I say, it was a memorable night!

I’m incredibly happy for you, Katie and Sean! I don’t have appropriate words to express my feelings! Have a great time at the French Polynesia White sandy beaches and the wild orchids await you!

Three major things happened this weekend.
- Temperature in Roseville went down to low 40′s, a record low for the month of May.
- LOST had it’s finale! The show is over, I watched every single episode of it and I’m still LOST!!!
- and most importantly…(drum roll)…Katie and Sean got married!!! Woooohoooooo!!! I have a looooooot to write about this epic wedding! Stay tuned for their love story. Until then, enjoy this preview of the super fun couple.

I have been blessed to have met so many wonderful people through the weddings I get to shoot. I know I sound like a broken record, but this is the the truth. And this is one of the reasons I LOVE weddings and think that I should quit everything else to become a full time wedding photographer. I left Amanda and Tim’s wedding (after their grand exit) thinking how lucky I was to know this awesome couple! Shooting becomes even more fun when we build that instant relationship with the couples. Amanda and Tim are a kind who you feel so comfortable talking to and hanging out with!

We had a blast on their engagement shoot last year. It seemed like May was so far off, but it arrived in no time. It did seem like the first day of Summer in the Newcastle wedding gardens. It was a warm and humid day. The location was gorgeous, no doubt. The barn, the willow trees and the beautiful garden made it a perfect setting for their wedding. The details were absolutely gorgeous. I loved Amanda and Tim’s cake toppers; cute birdies dressed in bride and groom! The vibrant color of the flowers were ahhhmaaazing!

I was singing along when the DJ played “Piano man” at the reception! I never heard anyone playing this song at a reception before. The guests were having a great time when Tim’s dad lead the crowd to dance with YMCA! Even the grandmas couldn’t stop dancing. I LOVED and enjoyed every moment there myself.

I was awed by the kindness of Tim, Amanda, her mom and pretty much rest of their families. The newlyweds were making their grand exit at the end of the night. While I was busy capturing their moments, I saw Amanda walking towards me and the next thing I got was a big, warm hug from her! My heart melted right away and I started to tear before I even realized. I am so happy for Amanda and Tim; they are such a sweet couple! I will miss receiving notes from Amanda every month, they made me smile every time I read them! I wish the couple the best of the bests and many, many years of blissful life together.

It was a fantastic wedding weekend! I had an opportunity to shoot a beautiful wedding at the Newcastle wedding gardens. I was going through the pictures today, relizing how hard it will be for me to pick my favorites. Here’s one from the wedding shortly after they were announced husband and wife; I love the feel of this image! It has to be one of my favorites from the day.

Going back to my post earlier this year, I made 3 promises to myself. They were my 3 New Year resolutions I ever made. One of them was to run a 5K, especially, running the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure in Sacramento. I DID IT!!! Yayyyy!!! Last Saturday, on May 8th, I ran the race for the Cure. For the runners it’s no big deal, but it was a huge deal for me! I made this resolution on the eve of my 30th birthday, it would be a lie if I say I wasn’t skeptical of my abilities to fulfill this. I’m not a runner, not anymore at least. But I wanted this to give me a reason to start running again. However, with my crazy schedule and everything else that’s been going on, running was the last thing I wanted to do.

I looked at myself on the mirror and realized that my excuses to deny the race weren’t good enough. I had to pull myself out of bed at 4:30 in the morning on a Saturday to make it to Cal Expo for the race. It was undoubtedly an amazing experience. Over twenty four thousand supporters, runners, walkers were there for a Cause. Many were running in the memory of their loved ones, many were survivors of cancer, there must have been a few who made this a new year resolution, just like me. I heard a story of a young mom of an 18-month old who couldn’t fight the cancer and died at the age of 31. I thought instantly, “I’m on the edge of 31 and I’m still healthy and alive”! I was grateful one more time. The experiences were greater than anything else, they gave a new meaning to this transient life. I think everyday we learn a little more about life, and that day I learned to see the life from a better angle. Even though, I stopped training months ago and I was totally out of shape, every step I took after the 2 mile stretch seemed like the last step of my life, I looked around and absorbed the positive energy around me and made another step towards the finish line.

I am thankful to four beautiful ladies who motivated me, supported me and were there with me from the beginning till the end of this race. Ladies, you know who you are and if you are reading this I’m saying out loud again that I couldn’t have done it without you. So THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I’m hoping to keep this up and make it to the next finish line with you.

Here’s the dealeo! I usually think about my next blog post when driving back from work. This one hour commute each way gives me numerous ideas on what to write about which may include crazy drivers, taking pictures in the middle of highway, how to avoid tweeting while driving, etc. I’m no writer, but I find certain things are interesting enough to write about. But the problem is I forget 90% of what I think while driving by the time I get home! Seriously, somehow I managed to forget about the most interesting topics and am left with the silly ones like what I am writing about right now. I call this “bloggers amnesia” (not even sure if it’s a proper term). Does anyone else feel this way? I wonder how many of the part-time bloggers suffer like me!

I have been busy lately (which is good, by the way). Between weddings, concerts and other social and outdoor activities, I hardly slept in last couple months. My hubby and I went to see John Mayer and Bon Jovi a month ago. Bon Jovi brought my memories back from the 90s. I’m so crazy about John Mayer that I might go see him again this summer in Woodland, CA. Tomorrow I’m going to see Conan AKA Coco at the Sacramento Convention Center. I’m soo excited!!! But the bad part is I may just have to listen to him since the last minute seats are no good and might not have 100% stage view. Blah! I’m going anyway.

Here’s a picture from our recent hike to the inspiration point at the north of San Franciso. This is a city that never gets old. The view of it from the hill-top was amazing. The sun was setting on one side and the night lights were just turning on the other side of the Richmon Bridge. It sure was inspirational, it was a great way to spend the weekend.

Busy, busy, busy week…it will only get busier. I just got back from the Social Media Workshop for the Wedding Professionals held at the Negative Space Studio @ Sacramento. It was a great workshop, learned so much about social media and it’s influence on business. Now I need to get started on implementing all that learning.

Last weekend I was at the Folsom Bridal Show. Vendors from all over Sacramento showcased their work. One of premier bridal gown stores in the Folsom/Granite bay area, Diamond Bridal gallery showcased a few of their gowns at the show. I was one of the photographers to take pictures of the models wearing their gowns. Here are a few from the model shoot.
